MUJI is a Japanese retailer that is closely connected to the traditionally Japanese aesthetic of “su” –– meaning plain or unadorned –– the idea that simplicity is not merely modest or frugal, but could possibly be more appealing than luxury.

The retailer that operates over 1,000 stores globally, partnered with Crafted to drive growth from paid advertising channels across European markets.

Our partnership with MUJI was still in its infancy when the pivotal November trading period hit. It marked our first major chance to unlock the performance of paid advertising for the retailer.

Following our initial account restructure, we ran a handful of campaigns across Europe to build momentum for Black Friday. We primed both audiences and algorithms for a successful run up to Christmas.
